Tofino and Ucluelet!
We love our dogs and Tofino and Ucluelet is dog heaven. With clean sandy beaches, lush rainforest walks, adventurous hikes and a designated walking path in town, the area has a lot to offer for all dogs and ages. Most of the vacation rentals we host are pet friendly but there are a few that are not. We wanted to highlight the ones that are and also share the Petiquette form that we created. Most of the houses we manage offer the basics for your pup: Dog towels, simple bed and bowls. If you are a host, we recommend this starter kit no matter what! I am a superhost and at my First Light, my vacation rental, I have wooden stairs, so I ask guests to put up the baby gate to help deter the dogs from running up and down as there are claw marks from other pooches. Each house and host is unique and have different needs.
Most houses charge $50 per pet and can guarantee one dog; please reach out to see if two are allowed.
Simple suggestions / requests:
Keep your pooch leashed as per Tofino / Ucluelet bylaw. There is no designated off leash area at this time
The Pacific Rim National Park is all leashed
Clean up after your pooch; there is often an outdoor waste bin
Do not let your pup on furniture.
If you are headed out and your dog is alone, please kennel the dog so no damage to incur.
